I awoke this morning to a 5 a.m. phone call from no one. The phone rang twice, my answering machine picked up, and no one was there. I was not a happy camper. This early morning situation was only the beginning of the wrath the winter was about to bestow upon me. I walked to my class in Wham without a care in the world beyond the chapped and harassed feelings my hands, nose, and ears felt. Sweetness was that pain I havent felt in a while. While walking up the stairs towards wham, my left foot decided it no longer wanted to contact the solid ground and decided to slide out from under me. Needless to say the rest of my body liked this idea and there I went...plunging down 10 or so cement stairs into a puddle of melt and ice. Luckily, not less than 20 people were observing this and only 100% or so laughed. I guess it was funny if you are satanic in your daily actions, but I am not. I stood again, dripping muck and slush, and proceeded to again make the ascent to the top of the stairs. This time I was fine. My legs decided to work properly. But the trouble had not ended.
Upon my attempt to enter Wham, a young woman decided to open the door more rapidly than my muscle reaction could adjust. The edge of the door slammed into the side of my head and chest. Not only did it knock me backwards, but I fell over cement ledge. I fell 5 feet into snow and ice. All the moist spots from the previous fall now became coated in fluff. White, cold fluff.
I walked into class and the professor asked in front of everyone if I had been hit by a car. I politely said I had not. He proceeded to again laugh...it was great fun.
I hate the winter.
In Other News...
a) Today is the day we find out if Wesley Clark is done. Kerry will win and Dean has somehow resurrected himself at least marginally. Edwards continues his late surge. I predict Kerry with 31%. Dean with 26%. Edwards and Clark in the 12-15% range, Leiberman around 8%. With Dennis Kucinich and Al Sharpton coming to blows over racial policy on the Nashua Fairgounds.
b) I lost a bet to a friend and must give him a 60 second blurb of me singing for his website. It will apparently play automatically when someone visits his site. I really suck.
c) One of my professors attempted to tell me that Bishops and Priests did not exist within the Christian Church until after 312 AD when Constantine legalized Christian worship. I asked her, in class, if she had ever read the Bible. She said she had. Then I clarified, "Have you ever read anything St. Paul ever wrote?" Again, she said she had. Apparently though, she has zero reading comprehension. Paul goes on and on and on about the early bishops and their role in the Church. Paul lived in the 45-70 AD range. Now, Im no scholar, but I do believe that is BEFORE 312 AD. I really hate feminist, God-hating liberal professors and their misinformation campaigns.
d) My car is under an inch of ice and 3 inches of snow. It might not see the light of day for a while. If anyone has an extra scraper, please send it my way.
