Connemara's Rising

The musings of a common sense, independent, laid back, nature-enjoying, baseball-worshipping, Wrigley-adoring, literate, informed, and, yes, white male. And maybe, just maybe, I'll find what I'm looking for.

The distance is what gets me...

I went to Barnes and Nobles tonight to read some more of the books I've started. I tend to start 3 or 4 books and read each of them a little each time I go. It's kind of exhilirating to have so many stories going at once. But while I was there I saw Rini. Rini and I went to high school together and never got along all that well. We were too opinionated, immature and the what not that follows along with that to be friends. But tonight, we had a nice (if brief) talk about the little stuff. Nothing too deep. It was just nice to see the maturation of us both. She's a good person at heart, if still rough around the edges and maybe I'll give her a call sometime and see if she wants to do a spot something around town.

Im going to write a novel. By the end of the summer I want to have 8 chapters done. Ive written novel-length stories before, but they didn't have endings befitting anything. I can do this, and I think I've finally got the inspiration and drive. I'll need a couple of proofreaders, but considering only two people read this, I'll probably have to recruit outside of the Connemara realm. LJ has already been appointed though.

In Other News...

a) the storms that hit the area rocked. I hear that Dekalb had tornadoes, but up here it was just great rain and wind and thunder.

b) "Im just looking for a happy ending. All Im looking for is you."

c) I had a nasty bout with a canister of parmesan cheese today. I sprayed it everywhere...in my ears, eyes, and down my shirt. Not to mention dusting half the kitchen. Im cool.

d) Im going to the suburbs with Mark tomorrow. It should be interesting. We're going car shopping for him, and he may make a purchase. Who knows.

Musical Delights of Today: Neko Case and Pat Green. Take a listen, they're quality.
