This was a really, really good day. It could've been better I suppose, but for not seeing one other human soul I knew on a first name basis, it was really excellent. Let's hope for two in a row.
In Other News...
a) Someone, likely LJ, remind me that crushes are bad, bad things and I need to stop developing them.
b) Let's go Carlos.
c) So I am thinking about applying for a two year grant through the USGA that would be based in Colorado Springs. It's something I looked at and mentioned to a few of you before. The salary isn't bad and it's EXCELLENT experience. It wouldn't be until next summer though. It would really be nice for something like that to actually work out.
d) My Friday hike with Cassandra was bloody excellent. Highlights include massive mud puddles, drifting fog, being caught in a torrential downpour, seeing lightning strike within 500 yards, nearly being knocked to the ground by thunder, and being bitten by more mosquitoes than I thought possible...not to mention walking 3-4 miles along a gorgeous ridgeline with serious ravines to both sides. Saw a lot of cool plants, but no snakes. I suppose there's always next time for the serpents. Overall though, it was really quite brilliant.
