Today had to be the most boring day in a long, long time. I woke up very late, mainly because I could not sleep last night for anything. It literally pained me to watch infomercial after infomercial about nothing I could use until I saw the sky outside lighten to an ashen color. My head hurt all night and then, blah, no sleep. Sometimes life just hits me upside the head. The Top 6 tonight will be my favorite television shows that are on T.V. right now. Some are weekly broadcast shows, some daily cable shows, some randomly shown shows of great value and entertainment.
6) National Geographic Explorer. While it might not be the most interesting topic all the time, the production, direction, editing, narration, and completeness are always top-notch. The one I saw on the Tiger Shark and the other on the Mongols were just freaking brilliant. Obviously I enjoy educational T.V., but NGE just takes things to a new level.
5) Venom E.R. Dr. Sean Bush, you are amazing. Really though, how many shows talk about the same 6 snakes and continue being among the best shows on television. I cannot tell you how much I have learned and enjoyed watching the show. From the sed rate effects, envenomation complications, bite width, etc. Seriously though, if you have nothing else to do, give it a watch. Animal Planet rocks.
4) American Chopper. I have to say that I enjoy the older episodes more than the newer ones for many reasons...from the new widescreen view, to the cutback on the personal interview time, to the more outlandish circumstances. But it is still a classic show and deserves to be on network television. I have to say that I really feel bad for Vinny quite a bit...he gets jobbed by Paul Sr. way too much. But these guys really are brilliant at what they do and they have all the respect I can give. I don't even know how to find the fuel filter, so what they do is quite impressive to me.
3) Big Break II. Yeah, it's great. Go Kip!! Seriously though, it's a very addictive show, and most of the amateur look from the first one has been revamped and improved in this one. I was sad to see Mike get eliminated, but Kip is awesome. If this Donnie guy wins, I'll be pretty upset. He's a complete dickhead and people like that don't deserve to get ahead. Poor Bart though, you dominate all season and then boom...lose. Sucks. But anyways, if you have TGC, give it a view.
2) Lost. Now, of course, having the #1 hot chick, Hotchick Wannabangher as I call her, helps this show's cause, but in reality, it is a great show. The twists, turns, and commercial breaks can be a bit much, but I keep coming back for more and enjoy how the show uses flashbacks well. But Miss Lilly better be in her underwear again soon, or Mark and I will be a bit pissed. But Locke is awesome and the fat guy is hysterical sometimes, so it's all fine really. Too bad those of you who haven't seen it won't get to from the beginning. It is really, really good.
1) The West Wing. Yeah, yeah...you all knew this was coming. So what. Brilliance is brilliance. I do enjoy the old episodes more because they flow better and are less predictable, but the new ones have a little more edge to them and the conflict increase is useful. I know, I know...I hate liberals. But really, the ideology isn't what the show's about so it doesn't bother me. Plus, conservatives have the House, so it's all good. Bradley Whitford is hysterical and you've gotta love Josh Malina. Anyways, give it a watch...and that's the list.
In Other News...
a) I enjoyed the cold weather today. While very brisk, I really enjoyed the temperature and the wind. Sometimes, winter is really great.
b) I think...and I stress think...I am going to start writing again. I shut it down for a good long time, but I think maybe I should. It's good for me, and I'm not terrible at it.
c) Let's Go Hendry, Let's Go.
d) I need some freaking connections to find a job. HELP!!
